Question     How far from Devonport are tourist hot spots and townships of interest?


Answer
    Devonport is the Gate-Way to Tasmania and represents the centre of the North West Coast.
We have an abundance of local tourist spots and country township worth seeing.

Question     Are you close to the Shopping Centre and Restaurants?


Answer
    Coles, K-mart and Woolworths supermarkets are 5 minutes away, and are open 7 days a week from 7.30am till 10.00pm. Rooke Street Mall, Post Office, Major Banks and retail shopping centre is open most days, and is located nearby. The local restaurants and cinema complex are located close by near the Mall, there are many different types of restaurants to choose from, and cater for all tastes and budgets. Some take-away outlets will deliver to your unit. There is a full restaurant guide in your unit.Want a night out without the children, we can also arrange Baby / Child Sitting for you, the rates are by the hour (minimum 2 hours), contact Reception to arrange your night out.

 
 


 
 

Question     Can we get Breakfast?


Answer
    We offer a full room service breakfast menu for you to choose from, all breakfast orders are delivered to your unit at the time you like. What better way to start the day than breakfast in bed, spoil yourself.

 
 


 
 

Question     Can we pay by EFTPOS


Answer
    We accept all major credits cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Card. Accounts can be paid by cash or bank cheque. Personal cheques can only be accepted if prior arrangements have been made. We do require your credit card details when making a reservation; we don't draw on the card, but do need it to secure your booking.

 
 


 
 

Question     How close is the Barclay Motor Inn to the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry Terminal?


Answer
    The Barclay Motor Inn (approximately 10 minutes drive) is on the opposite side of the River Mersey; when you disembark follow the sign to the City Centre. Cross over the River and follow sign to City Centre, keep the river on you right, past the fire station follow it along until you see the Barclay Motor Inn street sign (George Street), turn left, we are located at 112 North Fenton Street. And we are only 10 minutes to Devonport airport and five minutes to the Redline Bus Terminal.

 
 


 
 

Question     Is the Swimming Pool open all year?


Answer
    Yes: the in-door saltwater swimming pool is heated to a perfect 28 - 30 °C in the summer and 30-32 °C in the winter and is open all year round, great for the winter months and cooling off in the summer months. It is open from 8am in the morning till 8pm in the evenings. We also have a 1/2 Tennis Court and basketball hoops for guests to play on. Rackets, tennis balls and basketballs are available at no charge.

 
 


 
 

Question     What Do I Need To Bring?


Answer
    All the units at the Barclay Motor Inn are fully equipped; if you have booked a unit with a kitchen the only thing you need to bring is food. Extra pool towels are available.

We also have a full Guest Laundry, washer and dryer so you don't need to carry lots of dirty clothes. All units are serviced daily, with tea / coffee / sugar and milk replenished every morning.

 
 


 
 

Question     What's the weather like?


Answer
    Every season is perfect in Tasmania for all different reasons - "A Touch Of All Seasons In Each Season"-
- Spring: Beautiful days, cool nights and a chance to experience the sights and smells of nature coming alive.
- Summer: Warm sunny days, no extreme temperature highs or humidity, "Perfect" to enjoy.
- Autumn: Cooler days and nights combined with the autumn colours of nature, quite a special time.
- Winter: Yes it's invigorating, put some warm clothing on, and enjoy the fresh and clean air. Blue skies and if you are lucky, see the snow covered mountain tops, what a great way to enjoy the Tasmania Winter

 
 


 
 

Question     What Tourist Services and Information do you have?


Answer
    We carry a comprehensive range of tourist maps and brochures. All the Barclay staff have extensive local knowledge of the North West of Tasmania, and keep up to date on local events. We also have a self-drive excursion planner to help you organize your days. The 5 * days excursion planner is self-explanatory and list the major attractions, helpful information and routes. It is only a guide and we do recommend you spend a little time familiarizing yourself with an easy to follow map. The key to enjoying your days is to go off the beaten track, stop when you feel like it and most important of all, not worry when you get lost, it's all part of the fun. In Tasmania everything and everywhere is just down the road and around the corner.

 
 


 
 

Question     What type of units do you have?


Answer
    We have a choice of four unit styles to choose from:-


- 2 * bedroom units with kitchens - accommodates a maximum of 5 people

- Studio style units with kitchens - accommodates a maximum of 3 people

- Deluxe motel style units - accommodates 2 people

- Standard motel units - accommodates 2 people.

And we have foldaway full size single beds for extra guests if needed.
